The three musicians are veterans of the Sydney music scene with over fifty years live and recording experience between them.
Prue Rheuben began singing in the early 1980’s in bands such as Fiction Romance and Desert Boot before joining Lunar Sea Boatmen in the mid 1990’s. From there she went on to join the Forsberg Foundation who continue to play around Sydney to this day.
Jamie Forsberg first moved to Sydney in the 1980’s with the power-pop band, The Spliffs. Since then he’s been involved in theatre, corporate covers bands and a host of original live acts too numerous to list here. In 2005 he formed the Forsberg Foundation with Prue who then enlisted Ian Purdie from Lunar Sea Boatmen to form the Locals.
Ian Purdie has had a vast chequered career spanning decades in long forgotten bands like Our Feet are Sane, The Marcos Family and The Sea Monsters before going solo in the early 1990’s and forming Lunar Sea Boatmen.
Needless to say, between them they’ve made a lot of noise over the last 30 years and continue to do so. The Locals play authentic guitar driven, old school rock’n roll.
This trio mix acoustic and electric sounds with blistering three part harmonies. They provide perfect beer garden entertainment and rock up any party or event.
